Book Review: Her Cherry by Penelope Bloom

How’d I meet her?

Well, a gentleman never brags.
Thankfully, I’m no gentleman.
First, I paid for her cherry (pie, but that’s not the point),
Next, I deflowered her.
After that? I left my business card and walked out like I owned the place.
Yeah, you could say we hit it off.

How did I meet William?
He walked into my bakery, bought a cherry pie, stole a vase of flowers—I still have no idea what he wanted with them—and left his business card.

Before I say what I did with the business card, I should clarify something:
William couldn’t have walked into my life at a worse time.
My bakery was failing.
My creepy ex refused to leave me alone.
Oh, and I was a twenty-five-year-old virgin, a fact my friends refused to stop hassling me about.

Fixing my little virginity problem with William would be like swatting a fly with a hammer. Overkill, but the best kind.

William was stupid hot, the kind of hot that makes women do stupid things. The kind of hot that made me think crazy things. Like thinking the fly wouldn’t even mind getting hammered by William and his washboard abs. That makes two of us.

So I called him.

Maybe it was against my better judgment. Maybe I was stepping into a disaster waiting to happen.

I knew I was in trouble when he chuckled in that deep, sexy voice of his over the phone and said, “I’m still craving your cherry. Do you deliver?”

I didn’t think any book would make me laugh as hard as “His Banana” (also by Penelope Bloom), but “Her Cherry” pretty much had me snorting coffee out of my nose in the middle of a coffee shop. Her Cherry is pretty much about . . . cherry pie. Yes, the pie and “Cherry”, the nickname William gives Hailey after going to her bakery. Of course, there are the usual sexual connotations that go along with all things cherry.

I loved both characters. They cracked me up - William more so than Hailey. Hailey is a strong, conservative virgin (yes, cue the cherry sexual innuendos) who owns a bakery that is struggling to stay afloat. She is comfortable with life, a bit shy, and her sister and coworker are adamant that she put herself out there. William is gregarious, rich, cocky, and likes to steal things. He isn’t used to working to get a woman. We met William in “His Banana” as the identical, wayward, playboy twin to Bruce. I really enjoyed watching William pursue Hailey and I liked how she didn’t just make it easy for him. Williams antics and personality were highly entertaining (hence the coffee that I snorted out of my nose).

Throw in a bit of family drama, a hip grandma, a few misunderstanding, and of comic relief and you have a great, entertaining romance.

I received this book as an ARC through Booksprout and I voluntarily leave this review. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

About the Author:

I'm so proud and extremely thankful to my readers for making me a USA Today Bestselling author and Amazon top 10 best selling author!

I love writing romances that I'd want to live in. I like my men with a mind as dirty as sin, a bit of an attitude, and a heart of gold they try to keep hidden away. I absolutely love writing about BDSM, but it's not featured in all of my stories. Check the bottom of my bio for a super quick breakdown of my books and which one might suit your style.

I stepped away from my job as a high school teacher to pursue my dream of writing in October of last year. Writing had always been my dream, but it took having my two beautiful daughters to push me to follow through with it. I wanted to be able to show my girls that nothing is impossible. No dream is too big. No matter what anyone tells them.

They just have to look at their mommy to see it. Being a positive example for my girls is worth all the late nights, doubts, and fears that come with being a writer. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Whew! Look at me getting emotional over here. It's just an author bio, Penelope!
