Dirty Like Jude by Jaine Diamond (Review)

I can never contain my enthusiasm when I find out that one of my favorite authors, Jaine Diamond, is coming out with a new release.  The wait is over and now we get Jude's story!  Dirty Like Jude is the 5th book in Jaine Diamond's Dirty  series (a rockstar romance). Note: All of the books in the Rockstar series can be read as standalone, but some of the stories are interconnected so I do recommend starting with book 1 Dirty Like Me or at least be sure to read "A Dirty Wedding Night" (Dirty 2.5) as there is a short story that features both main characters.

Blurb:

He was her first true love…

And the worst mistake she ever made.

There’s always been a spark between Jude Grayson and Roni “Wild Card” Webber. Unfortunately, whenever it ignites… it explodes.

And they both get burned.

As head of security for Dirty—his best friend’s rock band—and a member of the West Coast Kings motorcycle club, Jude had a choice to make, long ago. Loyalty or love. Brotherhood or her

But now the woman he left behind is suddenly everywhere he turns.

Problem is, Roni’s still got a wild side—and another biker for a boyfriend.

… And Jude’s got a fire for her that just won’t die.

Roni and Jude are about to play a dangerous game.
A game they’ve never known how to win...
and their hearts can’t afford to lose.

Dirty Like Jude is the fifth full-length novel in the Dirty series—a rockstar romance series about the members of the rock band Dirty and the women and men who love them.

Novels in the Dirty series are interconnected standalones, each with an HEA; other books (novella/story collection) are not HEA, but are essential pieces of the overall story arcs. (There are ongoing storylines that develop throughout the series; reading them in order is not crucial but is HIGHLY recommended.)

Review:
Oh goodness, what a great book in the “Dirty Series”!  I would categorize this romance between Jude and Roni as a combination of a second chance romance and an enemies-to-lovers.

Way back in Dirty Like Brody, I wasn’t a big fan of Roni, Jessa’s best friend.  However, when Roni and Jude had a story in Dirty Wedding Night, my opinion of her changed.  Still, I wasn’t sure that I would love her as much as the other heroines in the other books, but I was wrong. She is a strong character who recognizes her faults and is true to who she is.  She has a big heart with lots of love, but is vulnerable given that Jude has broken her heart in the past. Jude is Dirty’s bodyguard, Jesse’s best friend, and a member of the West Kings MC gang.  I love his protective streak - for both the band and for Roni.  At times he was a train wreck over Roni.  My heart repeatedly broke for both of them.
The decade journey towards their HEA was an interesting, winding road.

I loved loved loved how the author would flash back to their past from both their POVs. Sometimes when authors flip back and forth between past and present it gets confusing, but Jaine Diamond did a great job with the transitions. Dirty Like Jude is told from a dual POV, which I think was perfect for this book rather than a singular POV. I like how this book touches upon the MC life as well as being a bodyguard to a very popular band. It was like the best of both worlds for me - rockstars and MC.  I also loved seeing the other characters - Dirty’s members and their significant others.  This book has a HEA and no cliffhanger.  Zane and Maggie are coming up next!

I received this book as an ARC and I voluntarily leave this review.
