He’s completely off-limits.
I couldn’t stand the rumors it would cause.
But I’m drawn to his dark and soulful gaze, to the wistfulness and pain in his voice when talking about his past.
His slightest touch sets my skin aflame. My lips beg for his kiss. My body hungers for his.
He says no one has to know. He says he can keep us a secret.
I’ve worked too hard to jeopardize my reputation, but I want to believe him. Can I trust no one will find out?
After all, a gentleman doesn’t kiss and tell…

It was him. The guy I’d flirted with at the bar last week. Connor.
His dark hair was messy and tousled. His jeans were rumpled and he had a leather jacket slung over one shoulder.
Connor looked just as handsome with his sleepy eyes and wrinkled clothes as he had the first time I’d met him. Maybe even more so. It looked less like he was trying to impress. Instead, his attractive appearance was effortless.
Then I noticed a hint of a red lipstick stain on his collar.
Warning bells went off in my head. They all said one thing:
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Quinn,” Connor drawled. “I can’t wait to work with you.”
His dark eyes trailed a path down my body, taking in every inch of me. That gaze glinted with a hint of heat and anticipation, as if he’d scented prey and was looking forward to the tasty meal.
“I’m sure we’ll be spending a lot of time together,” he continued.
Shit, I cursed inwardly in dismay.
What had I gotten myself into?
4 stars What a great start to a new series! Quinn is trying to work her way up at an interior design-business consulting firm. She lands her first solo project - a bar remodel. Sparks fly when she meets Connor, a former musician and the new owner of the bar. The attraction between the two is immediate, but Quinn fears for her reputation if she were to act on it. I loved Connor and I wanted to give him a hug as we learned more why he decided to leave the music world. I could also understand where Quinn was coming from given the office politics at her company. These two seemed like opposites and yet they were perfect together as a couple. I enjoyed watching their relationship evolve and while I wish Quinn’s solution to her work situation came a little earlier in the book, it was good how it all played out. I also loved the ending and how things are now open for Mason to have his own book. For those of you who have read some of this author’s rockstar romances, then you will recognize the bar as Walt’s Bar (Walt is Connor’s older brother) and love the cameos from Jessie and Gael (Cherry Lips).
