DEVIANT KING
Author: Rina Kent
Genre: Dark High School Bully Romance
Series: Royal Elite Series #1

Release Date: October 24, 2019

The villain isn’t supposed to be the king.
I have a simple plan.
Finish Royal Elite School and get into my dream university.
One glance from the school’s king blows my plan up in smoke.
One glance and he suffocates my air.
One glance and he issues his death sentence.
His first words spiral my life into irreparable chaos.
“I will destroy you.”

Everything about Aiden King is black.
Black mind.
Black heart.
Black soul.

I should’ve remained quiet and endured the time I have left.
I didn’t.
I made the irrevocable mistake of provoking the king on his throne.
The devil in his hell.
And now, I’ll pay the price.
Being hated by Aiden King is dangerous.
But being wanted by him is lethal.

Deviant King is book one of Royal Elite Series. This is a dark high school bully romance, mature new adult, and contains dubious situations that some readers might find offensive. Aiden isn’t the normal romance hero. In fact, he’s not a hero at ALL. So please don’t read this if any of that bothers you.

This book is NOT standalone.
Royal Elite Series:
#1 Deviant King
#2 Steel Princess
#3 Twisted Kingdom

Linda (Goodreads) - “OMG! Ms. Kent has this genre nailed! Her sharp dialogue makes you feel the bullying!”

Kandance Denys (Goodreads) - “Oh em gee, y’all. This book gripped me and refused to let me go.”

If I could give this more stars, I would!  Be prepared to cross over to the dark side as this book will hold you in it tights clutches and refuse to let you go as you turn from page to page wondering just where this author will take you on this wild, dark high school bully romance.

The tone is tone is set when Aiden’s first words to Elsa (Ellie/Frozen) are: “ I will destroy you” - and Aiden goes about doing just that.  He is a complex character that you will hate to love. He is the epitome of an anti-hero in that he oozes danger and is dripping with intimidation and hate. He has set his sights on the nerdy girl and there is no way Elsa can escape him.  If you like your anti-heroes dark and depraved, then you will love Aiden as just can’t help being sucked into this male’s brand of depravity and obsession.

As for Elsa, I adored her as she refuses to let the bullying break her.  She is defiant and has a strong backbone when it comes to Aiden.  There is also a little bit of underlying darkness within Elsa that is clawing to get out. Essentially, she is the type of heroine who is Aiden’s perfect match.  Let’s not forget the secondary characters here - I loved the dynamic between all of them.  I really like Elsa’s best friend and Aiden’s friends have such different and strong personalities that leave me hoping that they’ll each get their own books.

Deviant King is not a standalone as it does end in a doozy of a cliffhanger that will leave you gasping and wanting to dive immediately into the next book. This isn’t your typical high school bully romance in that there is much more than meets the eye.  The story is captivating with an interesting cast of characters and there are some hidden malevolent happenings  that are slowing being revealed. You will find your heart racing throughout parts of this book - some due to the intricate plot twists and some as a result of the sizzling chemistry between Aiden and Elsa.  If you enjoy dark bully romances with depraved anti-heroes and strong-willed heroines, then you will love Deviant King.

I received an early complimentary version of this book.
