REVIEW
The Not-Outcast is a spectacular read and is now one of my all time favorites by this author. At first I wasn’t sure about this book as it seemed a little jumbled in the very beginning but as the story unfolded, it all made so much sense. Cheyenne and Cut’s story is phenomenal with its originality & impressive character development that I couldn’t put the book down.
I adored Cheyenne and Cut both individually and as a couple. Cheyenne was a fascinating character unlike any another. With a heart wrenching backstory, the author illustrates all of her trials and tribulations while also highlighting her impressive strength of character. Her effervescent personality and innate kindness won me over. As for Cut, he is the perfect boyfriend who had me swooning at times and his huge heart endeared himself to me.
This book has the usual amount of angst that I have come to expect with author. It is not over the top but rather the perfect amount. There were several humorous moments that had me laughing so hard that I was crying. Especially when it came to the antics of Cheyenne’s two friends. Seriously, we all need those quirky friends like hers. Overall, I truly enjoyed this sports romance and I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next.
EXCERPT
“Stars. You made me meet them.”
I was still seeing them. His eyes. So smoldering.
He continued to stare at me, as if seeing me for the first time.
I tensed.
Maybe he was regretting this? Was my one-night stand a one-night finger bang instead?
I tried to stem the disappointment, but… Okay.
A girl had coping mechanisms. I could pull mine up, if I needed to. I was hoping I didn’t need to. I didn’t know how I’d handle that either. Then he must’ve made his decision.
He readjusted his hold on me, standing back from the door and his mouth twitched. “One rule.”
“Yeah?”
I was about to see stars again.
“Don’t call me dude again.”
